Nearly 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the state, producing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations responded to 598 calls for help across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on yesterday, more than twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
